YORK Label has made a significant investment in Information Technology to give our customers, employees, suppliers and 3rd party providers the ability to interact in the most efficient and productive way possible. Our goal is to use IT to ease the procurement and proofing process by being flexible in procedure. We want our customers to dictate how they do business with us, unlike our competitors who require business be conducted in one manner.
Enterprise Resource Planning
At the heart of YORK's IT infrastructure is a leading Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. YORK is clearly unique, as it is the only major prime label company to successfully implement a state-of-the-art ERP system that integrates account management, order management, manufacturing/planning, procurement, logistics and finance onto one platform.
As a result of our ERP implementation, YORK is able to successfully manage the supply chain processes in real-time by first defining customer needs. We then efficiently deliver on those needs based on defined customer requirements. Additionally, the ERP platform enables YORK to have visibility within the whole supply chain with its real-time integration and planning. Whether the product is produced or procured, stored or shipped directly, vendor-managed or YORK-managed, or created online or off-line, YORK can effectively manage each order from beginning to end.
YORK is developing iB2B solutions to integrate with 3rd party ERP systems such as SAP®, JD Edwards®, Oracle®, Peoplesoft® or Baan® as well as 3rd party e-procurement systems such as Ariba®, Perfect Commerce® or MySAP®. As a result, we are able to receive and process purchase orders via cXML, EDI, fax or email. We currently receive purchase orders in EDI format.

YORK provides flexible order management through our state-of-the-art proprietary online e-commerce system, Client Access. With the click of a mouse, customers have access to a host of online tools that combine easy-to-use navigation and broad product selection with powerful cost-savings functionality that includes, but is not limited to:
- Cataloging and organizing of items based upon customer requirements

- Customer determination of the access and control levels for company-specific requisitioning needs
- Sophisticated administrative sections allow for customized views, based upon user access
- Orders billed to the designated and approved department or cost center codes
- Order history, order status and item PDF available online to ease the ordering process
- Inventory levels and previous usage information available for overall order management
